Windows ME user; I also will need a new computer to use the site. Basic access to the records shouldn't require having the newest equipment.

It would be helpful if the update to program would allow a gedcom to be created, that could be down loaded. This is very helpful those who are starting their genealogy to download the info on Family Searh pertaining to their family. This is possible in family search.org.
By way does the church plan on allowing access to the old Family Search.

I have using an old program "Family Orgins." It gives the ability to creat ancestors reports with the ancestor, children and it would be nice if it would include the spouses of the children. It includes all notes and comments in your file. This allows you to creat a report in the form of a book. This would be helpful in publishing a family history.

Another Windows 98SE user here who would love to be able to access the records again. Was able to once upon a time. However like everyone else with older computers/OS I am unable to install Flash 10. Frustrating. It was shaping up to be a wonderful resource. With any revamps of your wonderful resources please keep in mind us oldies who either can't afford to upgrade or like what we have so much we don't want to.

I have been waiting for almost an hour for the index to download. It's still downloading and I am still waiting and wondering. I believe the file is so large that my computer may not accomodate the index. Wish you had suggested a time frame. Why is this taking so long?
Still downloading.....HELP

My latest submission (done during a trip to the main FHL) froze on their characteristically slow server, and now all the submitted ordinances show as [Printed] in green, even though no FOR was rendered to .pdf. Now, I have no way of reproducing the submission, as it was a cleanup pick-through of my entire list. I need to reproduce the FOR, but this capability seems to have been lost. Where does the database store the FORs for my login? There should be an easy way to view or reprint "Past Submissions". For now, I am stuck waiting 2-3 years until the rest of my work moves, and I reconstitute the FOR from old "Green" records that have not moved.
